More Progress

The construction is moving right along. 

It is amazing to watch the progress.

Here are more pictures of what has been going on around here.

All of these are single pictures of a WHOLE LOT of work. 

This rough in has taken a few months to complete.

 Isn't this so cool.  I love this brick.  It is right over our front door.

 And just today, the insulation was installed.

Lots going on at the Lilly Pad. 
Here are some updates...

More worker bees putting on the shingles.

The windows and doors were delivered.

The showers arrived.

I spent a little while pulling wire under the apartment. 

That was fun. 

This is what it looked like upstairs. 

Those are the wires I shoved up from the crawlspace.

My dad drilling a hole in the side of the wall for the water pipes.

Sorry it was blurry.  I thought I was going to be buried here.

My dad wanted me to stand in the pipe and hold it down while he dumped dirt on top.

See that pipe, I was standing there a second ago.

On Saturday, the girls and Mason helped clean up the place. 

They were a HUGE help. 

The girls are picking up plywood off of the back porch. 

They took all the extra wood upstairs to keep.

Maybe for a tree house???

The girls are helping Pop (my Dad) pick up scrap shingles before he fills in the garage.

YIPPEE!!  This is the very first time I got to vacuum our new home!!

I even moved in some odd pieces of furniture. 

You are welcome to come over and have a snack with us anytime!

Thanks to Uncle Mark, Cari had fun picking up nails. 

This thing just rolls over the floor and the huge magnet on the bottom picks up all the nails!!

And to top it all off, my mom brought us all milkshakes!!!

Yea!  The dirt pile in our front yard has been moved!!

The Worker Bees

My dad hired a crew of men to finish the top level of the apartments. 

Here are some pictures of their progress. 

They work fast.

Ta Da... Tar Paper done!  The apartment is almost in the dry.

When the windows and door are installed, it will be competely in the dry.

If anybody wonders why we care if it is in the dry:  When the sub-flooring is exposed to the rain and sun over an exended period of time, the sub-floor will begin to warp resulting in an uneven floor.

Super Cute Work Gloves

We are making some progress. 

My dad is still healing, but thinks he is healed. 

Here are some updated pictures from the past couple of weeks.

I do actually work around here.... sometimes.

We have all of the interior walls up!!

Michael and his dad are putting the black pipes in the porches.  These black pipes are leading from the vents on the outside of the porch to the inside of the crawl space below so that air can flow under there.

Now they are filling in the porches with sand.

Here is my dad - walking around trying to find something for me to do besides taking pictures.

He found something. 

I had to unload and restack this pile of lumber. 

(And another one too - but who's counting?)

I had to run to the house to get my gloves. 

Last time I touched this kind of wood, I got two splinters. 

I was excited to unload the lumber. 

I didn't buy these super cute work gloves for nothin'.

I also got to be on clean up crew. 

I picked up all the scrap pieces of wood and nails laying around.
